Donation of Computer Lab to AMEU East

The Management of Orange Liberia has donated a brand new and fully functional computer lab to the African Methodist Episcopal University (AMEU) as part of the company’s ongoing Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. The lab was formally turned over to authorities of the university at a special event held on the AMEU campus on Wednesday, a press release said. Making remarks on behalf of the university, Dr. Joseph T. Isaac, President of AMEU thanked Orange for its kind gesture and noted that the lab would be utilized for the intended purposes. He explained that the university intends to begin to offer distant learning and online graduate programs from the new lab. “The first course of our graduate school will be taught online and we will utilize this lab for it,” Dr. Isaac noted. The Chief Executive Officer of Orange Liberia, Mr. Mamadou Coulibaly, stated that his company is delighted to be associated with one of Liberia’s premier institutions and that the gesture was part of Orange Liberia’s CSR activity to strengthen the country’s education sector. “Orange Liberia has five strategic pillars and this new lab fulfills three of the pillars for education, innovation as well as health because the lab has been created to be accessible for people with physical disabilities,” he said.
