Orange Foundation, through its commitment to empowering education across Liberia on Friday September 12 honored, JESCOR Learning Center for emerging as Liberia’s national winner in the 2025 WikiChallenge Écoles d’Afrique. The school secured the prestigious award with their outstanding article on “Du-port Road Waterside,” there by earning them a prize Money of €2,500.
The WikiChallenge Écoles d’Afrique, is a multinational contest that inspires young learners between the ages of 9–12 to contribute to Vikidia, the little sister of Wikipedia. This contest encourages students to document their communities, landmarks, and cultural heritage, giving the world a deeper look into Africa’s rich identity while building the digital skills of tomorrow’s leaders.
By choosing to write about Du-port Road Waterside, JESCOR Learning Center’s students highlighted a location that carries deep meaning for their community. Their work not only captured the spirit of the area but also showcased the power of storytelling, research, and collaboration amongst young minds.
